About Shu Jen

Shu Jen is a visual artist, who specializes in inks, oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Her repertoire spans a diverse spectrum of styles that range from classical Chinese, still life, impressionism, abstract, and a unique fusion of classical Chinese and modernism.

She has studied at the Art Institute of Missouri State University, the Art Department of SUNY Stony Brook, and the Fine Arts Department of Chinese Painting at the National Taiwan University of Arts. She has served as Cultural Director of New Jersey's Fidelity Chinese School and taught students Chinese painting and calligraphy. She has won many awards from the Arts Society of Monmouth County, New Jersey, and held solo exhibitions at SUNY Stony Brook, Kansas City Community College, New Jersey community schools, and Monmouth County Library.

In April 2019, her work was selected to be part of a museum exhibition at Taiwan's National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall. The exhibition served to showcase the best artists who had once studied under the legendary painter, Li Qimao.
